The Toggle Switch: a familiar sight on countless guitars. Gibson Les Pauls and their Epiphone equivalents; various PRS, Ibanez and Jackson guitars; the list goes on.
It’s a simple component that unlocks a wide range of tones. Whilst the larger style of toggle switch is usually a pickup selector, it can also be used for things like phase switching and coil splitting.
The Switchcraft Short Toggle Switch – the EP-4066 as we call it – is the industry standard switch. Trusted by countless builders and repairers, it’s a popular choice for both replacement and upgradr projects. You’ll find it underneath the Rhythm/Treble ring on a Les Paul, for example.
Receiving your EP-4066 switch in the post, you might notice solder on the lugs.
Don’t worry - it has not been installed and used!
All Switchcraft toggle switches come pre-tinned. It is part of the manufacturing process, creating a part that has reliable connections whilst making installation quicker and easier. Any slight discolouration is normal and simply part of the factory soldering process.
If you've received an EP-4066 and noticed solder on the terminals, you can install in confidence. Every switch we sell is brand new, unused, and ready to install.
