Allparts are renowned for high-quality replacement guitar necks. Unfinished, they require a quick finish before being ready to install and play. And with replacement options for Stratocasters and Telecasters, Jazzmasters and Baritones, Precision and Jazz Bass – there’s a style and spec for every player, tech and builder.
But many guitarists are surprised to discover that amongst the offering are a selection of finished guitar and bass necks that are ready to install straight from the box.
The finishes available include:
- Glossy Nitro over Polyurethane
- Tinted Polyurethane
- Satin Thin Polyurethane
Regardless of the finish type, each neck will come with a layer of polyurethane, be that the base or top coat. It’s the finish of choice for all Allparts necks because of its durability and longevity. Compared to nitrocellulose lacquer, polyurethane is tougher and far more resistant to every day wear such as dings, dents and scratches. It is also resistant to checking – the fine cracking that often appears over time as the nitro paint ages – helping necks maintain their appearance for longer.
Tinted Polyurethane
This finish makes up the vast majority of our finished Allparts necks. The tint provides a warm, classic look whilst allowing the grain to still shine through.
Perfect for players who want a traditional aesthetic with modern durability.
Glossy Nitro over Polyurethane
A single coat of polyurethane provides the base, and is finished over with a nitrocellulose topcoat which adds real depth and character.
These necks are a great compromise; providing a vintage aesthetic and feel with a strong, stable and reliable foundation.
Satin Thin Polyurethane
A very thin layer of polyurethane creates a neck that is smooth and soft, like a neck from a well-played instrument. Each neck receives custom wear by hand, giving them a natural aged look that is unique to each.
