Why choose an unfinished Allparts neck?

Why choose an unfinished Allparts neck?

Look through the Allparts catalogue and you’ll notice many of the necks are unfinished. Here’s why.

For some players, an unfinished neck might seem unusual. After all, most factory guitars arrive fully finished and ready to play. So why would anyone want a bare neck?

The reason, as you will see, is control. For builders, modders, and players upgrading their guitars, the neck is one of the most personal parts of the instrument, and the finish plays a major role in how it feels and plays.

Most Allparts necks are ‘Licensed by Fender’ making them ideal replacements for your Strat or Tele, offset Fender guitars, and Fender basses. Built to exact Fender specifications, they’re designed for dependable fit and familiar feel.

However, that doesn’t limit your options. Where an Allparts neck will have the correct headstock size and shape, heel width, and fret size, you do have a choice of neck shape, fretboard, and fretboard radius. Whether you prefer vintage accuracy or modern convenience, is entirely down to you.

But choosing an unfinished neck ultimately gives you complete control over the final finish. Prefer oil, satin lacquer, gloss, tinted nitro, relic treatment, or a smooth hand-rubbed finish? The choice is entirely yours.

Finishing a neck takes a little know-how, but that’s part of the appeal. In return, you get a quality Fender-compatible neck that fits your guitar perfectly and feels exactly the way you want.
